Xerox b215 Multifunction All-in-One Black and White Laser Printer Reviews

Most printers (actually all devices) come pre-configured and configured for consumers as described in our wireless printer security guide. I can imagine. Logging is enabled.

You should also consider the laws of UI design software. The more powerful the device, the worse the user interface. In this case, the Xerox B215 is badly present in the style of 1996 spooning photons out of the eye. But hey, that’s a good thing.

As expected, the ugliness turned into a lot of good features.Access to the printer interface is done via HTTP or HTTPS (signed certificate). The admin password is actually a series of devices, a combination of significant numbers and letters.

The main page has big notifications about telemetry and diagnostic devices and asks you to turn them off if you don’t want to anonymously report printing activity to parents. elegant design specs

Xerox B215 print speed printer

The B215 measures 15.8 x 15.6 x 14.4 inches, which is typical for printers in this class. It has a 40-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) and a duplex unit for duplex printing. The paper cassette holds 250 sheets and has a manual feed for specialty media.

B215 transforms text documents into interesting shapes, creating dark characters with sharp edges.

Always check the flatbed before loading an original to be copied or scanned into the ADF. In this case, the B215 does not interfere with paper circulation. Conversely, the ADF pulls the first page into the device and damages it, causing a paper jam.

The B215 has a 3.5 inch color touchscreen and can be easily tilted up to 90 degrees. The large screen makes sense for standalone use, but not as a flag for smartphone screens.

Below the touchscreen is a USB direct port for printing and scanning to a USB stick. This feature has some limitations.

6 pages larger than 10 MB will not print from the USB stick. However, a one-page PDF prints in 23.9 seconds, slightly longer than printing a six-page PDF from your PC.

Xerox B215 print speed

The B215 printed a five-page text document in 18.3 seconds (16.4 pages/minute). This is faster than the average of 21.4 seconds (14 ppm). Our editors’ choice, the Brother MFC-L2750DW XL, prints documents in 16.2 seconds or 18.5 pages per minute. The B215 prints a 6-page PDF with mixed text and images in 21.8 seconds, or 16.5 pages per minute. This is much faster than the average of 39.9 seconds or 9ppm. The Brother MFC-L2750DW XL is slightly faster at 20.3 seconds or 17.8 pages per minute. When printing the same document using the duplexer, the B215 prints both sides in 43.3 seconds, or 8.3 pages per minute.

Copy and scan speeds

Xerox made a grayscale copy in an average of 10.1 seconds. This is about average for similar models we tested. The Brother MFC-L2750DW XL is slightly faster at 8.4 seconds. Using ADF to make a one-page copy of a five-page text document, Xerox completed the task in 22 seconds, or 13.6 pages per minute. Brother makes the same copy in 19.3 seconds or 15.5 pages per minute. Xerox makes a two-sided copy of a 10-page single-sided document in 57 seconds, or 10.5 pages per minute.

B215 was below average when scanning JPEG color at 600dpi. The Xerox device scans in 44.4 seconds, compared to an average of 35.4 seconds for black and white laser printers. The Brother MFC-L2750DW XL creates a JPEG in 38.4 seconds.

Print quality

The B215 turns text documents into attractive presentations, creating dark letter shapes with sharp edges. The graphics are printed with great detail, with subtle neutral colors and moderately dark shadows. You can see very small streaks.

Scanned color photos have a lot of detail and colors look natural and saturated. Shadow areas retain fine detail. Graphics scanned in grayscale have the same high quality, with softer midtones and sharper details. Xerox B215 Toner Cost and Yield

If low cost per page is your top priority, the B215 won’t disappoint. The $49 standard-yield toner cartridge is rated at 1,500 pages, or 3.3 cents per page.

High-capacity ink cartridges are $71.24 per page for 3,000 pages. Xerox offers his two-pack of high-capacity cartridges for the same price as buying two cartridges individually. A $55 drum cartridge (rated at 10,000 pages) adds only half a cent per page.
