The B215 measures 15.8 x 15.6 x 14.4 inches, which is typical for printers in this class. It has a 40-sheet automatic document feeder (ADF) and a duplex unit for duplex printing. The paper cassette holds 250 sheets and has a manual feed for specialty media.
B215 transforms text documents into interesting shapes, creating dark characters with sharp edges.

The B215 prints a 6-page PDF with mixed text and images in 21.8 seconds, or 16.5 pages per minute. This is much faster than the average of 39.9 seconds or 9ppm. The Brother MFC-L2750DW XL is slightly faster at 20.3 seconds or 17.8 pages per minute. When printing the same document using the duplexer, the B215 prints both sides in 43.3 seconds, or 8.3 pages per minute.
Copy and scan speeds
Xerox made a grayscale copy in an average of 10.1 seconds. This is about average for similar models we tested. The Brother MFC-L2750DW XL is slightly faster at 8.4 seconds. Using ADF to make a one-page copy of a five-page text document, Xerox completed the task in 22 seconds, or 13.6 pages per minute. Brother makes the same copy in 19.3 seconds or 15.5 pages per minute. Xerox makes a two-sided copy of a 10-page single-sided document in 57 seconds, or 10.5 pages per minute.
B215 was below average when scanning JPEG color at 600dpi. The Xerox device scans in 44.4 seconds, compared to an average of 35.4 seconds for black and white laser printers. The Brother MFC-L2750DW XL creates a JPEG in 38.4 seconds.
Print quality
The B215 turns text documents into attractive presentations, creating dark letter shapes with sharp edges. The graphics are printed with great detail, with subtle neutral colors and moderately dark shadows. You can see very small streaks.
Scanned color photos have a lot of detail and colors look natural and saturated. Shadow areas retain fine detail. Graphics scanned in grayscale have the same high quality, with softer midtones and sharper details. Xerox B215 Toner Cost and Yield
If low cost per page is your top priority, the B215 won’t disappoint. The $49 standard-yield toner cartridge is rated at 1,500 pages, or 3.3 cents per page.
